Water is Life
We depend on water
to grow our crops.
Greenroots Institute is engaging in community discussions and explorations about ways to address increasing demands on our water as we face diminishing supplies due to drought. We believe solutions will come both through the Valley’s traditions of water sharing and by adopting creative innovations.
Connecting to the Land
Growing food is a centuries-old tradition passed down from generation to generation.
Keeping land in agricultural production provides food security and helps us build a sustainable future.

Greenroots Institute is partnering with Northern New Mexico College to develop a certified, for-credit farmer training program at the College. Our hope is that this program will make it possible for more of our young people to stay here, work the land, make a good living, and bring fresh vitality to the Valley.
